You are warmly invited to celebrate ten hugely transformative years of Better Births Illawarra!

We would love you to join us as an important part of what built this incredible community-led organisation.

For ten years, BBI has fought for every woman and birthing parent to access an empowered birth. This decade of huge wins is something we often still cant imagine could have been possible.

We are also raising vital funds to invest into the next chapter to prevent birth trauma, drive change for every woman to access midwifery-led continuity of care and be respected, heard and supported.

Born in the Illawarra, the change we have fought for locally is now being felt across NSW, the maternity landscape looks different because of what this community actively refused to accept and what we raised our voices for.

The historic Birth Trauma Report - where more than 4,500 women shared their stories - named what we already knew. The Minister apologised for the harm cause by the system. In that moment, we reset our vision. With a NSW election coming in 2027, our community that has done extraordinary things is launching the next chapter. We aren’t done yet. The people in that room will be the first to know what we’re launching.

We have done so much without funding but now want every dollar raised to power our projects to continue our track record of remarkable change.
